Terry Grayson
Howell
May 7, 1954 — June 15, 2026
Terry Grayson Howell, age 72, of Mouth of Wilson, VA passed away at his home on Monday evening, June 15, 2026. He was born in Fleetwood, North Carolina on May 7. 1954, to Sanford Bruce and Lille Alma Miller Howell.
Grayson was a gentle, soft-spoken man who rarely tooted his own horn and believed that one day he might be successful at something. He might even question these descriptions of his many successes. A dedicated Orchardist, he continued to add to his heirloom orchard of over twenty-six old time apple trees, sharing it all with family and friends gathered to make cider and take home bushels of tasty apples. He also grew peach, nectarine, pear and even nut trees. A Master Gardener hardly speaks to his relationship with soil as his knowledge easily determined exactly what each vegetable needed to be its nutritious self. Many of us knew about these talents. Perhaps a few knew that he was an Inventor, consulting with other inventors around the world. His current project was a development of an organic liquid fertilizer that would prevent plant diseases. As a specialist in electronics, he came to be an intuitive repair man for just about anything. He was an Analyst continually researching a multitude of topics ranging from chemical components, to conscious-expanding frequencies and off-planet species. His dream was to live a simple life guaranteeing the freedom of time to develop his spiritual relationship to the Divine and to expand his consciousness toward Creation Itself. Most importantly, there was something so very deeply spiritual about Grayson and the energy that flowed from him to any who were lucky enough to know him. His gentle manner of communicating words or feelings that easily flowed from him was often not recognized until the person thought about what had been gifted from Grayson's loving heart and soul. Sometimes there was a slight hint toward the depth of who this wonderful man was... and will always be.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Glenna Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Miriandra Rota Howell of the home; one son, Ganesha and Adrienne Howell of Alaska; two daughters, Isani Howell of Alaska and Misty Leigh Toney (Sandra) of Louisiana; two granddaughters, Beatrix Scott Howell of Alaska and Rebekah Loren Potter of Louisiana; two step-sons, David and Katherine Wirtanen of Lexington, VA and Scott and Paula Wirtanen of Massachusetts; one sister, Elaine Graybeal of North Carolina; two nieces and three nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with military rites being conducted by the Grayson V.F.W. Post #7726. The family will receive friends from 10:00 -11:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. Private inurnment will follow at a later date in the Liberty Grove Church Cemetery in Fleetwood, NC.
