Thomas Ray Pollard age, 82, of Elk Creek, Virginia died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019 at Wake Forest Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  He was born February 22, 1936 in Sparta, North Carolina to Charlie Gwyn and Mallie Jane Maines Pollard.  Mr. Pollard was a self-employed farmer.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his 11 siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Funk Pollard of the home, two sons: Gary and Paige Pollard of Pinnacle, NC, and Danny and Holly Pollard of Independence, Virginia; six grandchildren and one step-grandson and one great-granddaughter also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 3:00 at Jerusalem United Methodist Church in Elk Creek, Virginia by Rev. Matt Linkous and Rev. Steve Stoltzfus with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 at the church prior to the service.
