Tony Curtis Bolt, age 62 of Independence, VA passed away at the Wake Forest Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.  He was born in Galax, Virginia on September 30, 1963, to Curtis Harrington and Ruby Maxine Thompson Bolt.  He was a graduate of Independence High School.  Tony will be remembered as a gentle soul who always showed kindness in every aspect of his life as well as in his dealings with people.  He maintained a deep-seated faith which nurtured and sustained him throughout his life.  He loved to share his faith which was evidenced in his daily actions.  Whether dealing with a teenage son, or a rambunctious grandson, he was always armed with patience and grace.  He was quick to apologize and admit to his errors.  As a single-young dad, he grew into a remarkable father setting a model example for his son to follow in rearing his own son.  He loved unconditionally and regardless of the situation he never turned away his son or turned a blind eye or deaf ear to a problem that could potentially evolve into a demanding conflict.  He stood firm upon his convictions and expectations, and he equally stood firm upon the love he demonstrated while defending his principles!  Tony was a talented guitar musician and song writer.  He often combined these two talents to create moving and inspiring worship music.  He thoroughly enjoyed Christian Rock music and attended countless concerts and festivals.  His family will remember him as a "happy soul" who was always ready and willing to support all family functions.  He had an uncompromising love for his son and grandson which were the light of his life.  The three of them share the same initials TCB- which coincided with Tony's favorite quote, "Taking Care of Business."  And that is what he did until the final breath escaped him.  He was a dedicated member of New Covenant Church in Ennice, NC which he supported for many years.  Tony endured a difficult illness for over a year and now his journey in this realm has ended.  His family and friends are greatly comforted that he was ready for the transition.  He had his confidence and trust in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his son, Tyler Bolt and Natasha Stuart all of Independence, VA; his grandson, Talyn Bolt of Independence; one sister, Debbie and Sam McCleary of Galax, VA; two brothers, Don "Kip" Anders of Lexington, NC and Terry and Brenda Thompson of Independence; Special friends, Phil Galyen, Joe Cocheran, and Richard Eller; special niece, Amanda Jansen of Galax; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday May 23, 2026 at 1:00 at the New Covenant Church (10420 NC Highway 18 Ennice, NC 28623) with Brother Phil Galyen and Brother Joe Cochran officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church.  Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery (35 Salem Lane Independence, VA 24348).
