Vera A. Coleson, age 87, of Independence, Virginia died Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at the Grayson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Independence.  She was born on October 11, 1932 to Hurshel and Leota Snow Johnson in Independence.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Estel Ray Coleson.

She is survived by Three sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie Ray and Debbie Coleson of Chilhowie, Virginia, Tony Mark and Lise Renzo Coleson of Baywood, Virginia, Terry Allan Coleson and fiancée, Denise Utley of Woodbridge, Virginia; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Ann and Tommy Farrer, of England; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild also survives.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Darin Brannock and Rev. Dr. Eddie Roland officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Independence.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
