Vergie Ethelene Lundy, age 88, of Independence, Virginia died at her home on February 11, 2020.  She was born on August 23, 1931 in Floyd County, Virginia to Woodson Kersey and Gracie Lee Ousley Quesenberry.  She was the widow of William Clyde Lundy.

She is survived by her children, Shirley and Kermon Sumner, Kenneth Lundy and Tonya Cole, Virginia Sue Boyer, Debra Testerman, Timothy Lundy, and Brenda and Eddie Ward all of Independence, Virginia, and Cathy and Ricky Spencer of Rugby, Virginia; fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Flat Rock United Methodist Church with interment to follow in the Flat Rock Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to the New River Trail State Park, 116 Orphanage Dr. Max Meadows, Virginia 24360.
