Virginia Ruth Spurlin, age 86, of Galax, VA, the Delhart Community, passed away Monday at Twin County Community Hospital, Galax, VA

She was born at Ennice, NC to Early C. and Ollie M. Anders Smith.

Surviving, husband, Gene H. Spurlin of the home; two daughters & spouses, Margaret S. & Lloyd Willis of Crozet, VA and Marsha Spurlin & friend, Wanda Mundy of Gladstone, VA; two sons & spouses, mike & Anita Spurlin and Marty & Alesa Spurlin all of Galax, VA; one brother & spouse, Billy & Shirley Smith of Ennice, NC, sister-in-law, Reba Smith of Ennice, NC; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011
at the reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel, Independence, VA.
Interment in Linton Family Cemetery, Galax, VA.
Rev. Donald White and Rev. Sammy Burnett officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
