Wade V. Neugent, Jr. was born in Elk Creek, Virginia to Wade V. Neugent, Sr. and Ruth Belle Hale Neugent on May 13, 1953 and died on July 3, 2022 at the Waddell Nursing Home in Galax, Virginia.  He owned several businesses in the trucking, excavating and paving business.  His passion was running his bulldozer and backhoe. He loved to travel and done so extensively.  He never left his beloved Elk Creek until his stroke on September 29, 2013, that left him paralyzed and in nursing facilities for the rest of his life.

He is survived by one sister, Ruth Neugent Hall and Mike Coomes of Galax, Virginia; one niece, Molly Hall of New York; special cousin and friend, Jimmy and Amelia Waller of Elk Creek; his former wife, Sue Neugent of Independence; several aunts and uncles survive.

A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday afternoon at 5:00 PM at the Jerusalem Cemetery in Elk Creek, Virginia.

The family requests no food.  Memorial donations may be made to the Elk Creek Rescue Squad or the Jerusalem Cemetery Fund.
