Walter Ray Billings, age 82, of Wytheville, VA passed away on Monday May 18, 2026, at the Holston Health and Rehab in Wytheville, VA.  Ray was born to Odell and Ruby Brown Billings in Harford County, Maryland on September 16, 1943.  As a young child Ray moved with his family to Sparta, NC where he later graduated from Sparta High School.  Ray was owner and Manager of Quality Installation in Independence, VA where he served the surrounding counties in providing floor covering, wallpaper, and other services in new home construction or home upgrades.  He had a reputation for providing quality work and he took great pride in the services he provided.  He was an avid Virginia Tech Hokie fan.  He enjoyed the sport of golf and took every possible opportunity to play.  He served as manager of New River Country Club.  Ray made many friends throughout his life, and he will be missed by a host of people.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Teresa Lee Pruitt Billings, brothers, Dale and Paul Billings.

He is survived by his son, Therron and Janna Billings of Galax, VA; step-daughter, Tiffany and Robert Michel of Louisa, Virginia; mother-in-law, Pricilla Munsey of Bluefield, West Virginia; brother, Wade and Peggy Billings of Wytheville, VA and Kenneth Billings of Lynchburg, VA; sister, Wanda Joines of Sparta, NC; grandchildren, Morgan and Nathan Johnson of Illinois; Ryan and Brittany Billings of Lincolnton, NC , Matthew Billings and Joceyln Long of Galax, VA, Levi and Hollan Billings of Fries, VA, Nick Sage and Emily Mabe of Galax, VA, Conner and Crosby Declan of Louisa, Virginia; several great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Steve and Cathy Munsey of Savanah, Georgia and a special friend, Gary Burris of Baywood, Virginia also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 12:00 Noon at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Osborne officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Burial will follow on June 2, 2026, at 12:00 noon at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, West Virginia.
