William Simpson, Jr. was born December 10, 1952 in Philadelphia, PA. He was the oldest child of four children born to William Simpson, Sr. and Juanita I. Simpson who both preceded him in death. William received his early education in Philadelphia, PA and was a graduate of the University of Dayton, Ohio receiving his Bachelor's degree in Education. He accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Wayland Temple Baptist Church. William loved in various states and later settled down in Owings Mill, Maryland as his home.
William became a member of Faith Canaan Baptist Church in 1998 under the leadership of his brother-in-law, Pastor William J. Scott, Jr. Although living in another state, William faithfully supported the ministry in presence and giving. He was employed by US Pak. William loved family and his brother and sisters were a great joy to him and he never failed to attend the family holiday dinners and family events whether it was in Philadelphia or North Carolina.
He was very much loved by his two sisters and one brother, sister and brothers-in-law, niece and nephews, cousins, family and friends. William will be greatly missed. He leaves to mourn, his brother, Claude Simpson and wife, Carla Simpson, sisters, Wanda Fashina and husband Joseph Fashina, Elizabeth P. Scott and Husband, Pastor William J. Scott Jr. all of Philadelphia, PA, one niece, Ejide Fashina, four nephews, Ade-Lele Fashina (Ruth), Rev. William Scott III (Catera), Rev. James Scott and Lamar Gary and four great-nephews and a host of wonderful cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018 at Faith Canaan Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. William J. Scott, Jr, Pastor. Final Services will be conducted on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at White Plains Baptist Church, Pastor, Rev. Chauncey Robinson, in Sparta, North Carolina at 12:00 Noon by Rev. Dr. William J. Scott, Jr.with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
